PhP Developer

3-4 years of direct web programming experience.

The Job Description is as below:
NaviSite is looking for a detail oriented Web Application Developer to join our team. The Web Application Developer will be responsible for assisting in the development of new applications, maintenance of our existing applications and take direction from the Manager of Information Systems to perform modifications and enhancements. Candidate must be able to respond to the need of frequent customization and to respond to unique client requirements at short notice. This role will also involve documentation, user support, troubleshooting and quality assurance. Ability to work independently to complete tasks under deadline. Ability to work on multiple projects concurrently. Experience with all phases of the software development life cycle.

Required Skills:
 3+ years of software development experience (Object Oriented Programming)
 3+ years of development experience with LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP) and/or Python.
 3+ years of Experience with HTML, XML, JavaScript and CSS
 3+ years experience with SQL databases (preferably Oracle) including database design and administration
 3+ years experience developing multi-tiered web applications using a scripting language
 Ability to understand existing code with minimal help/documentation and the willingness to dig deep.
 Excellent Problem solving skills.

Additional Skills:
- Experience with system administration on UNIX systems (preferable Linux)
- Experience administering an Apache web server

Customers run their solutions on various commercial distributions of Linux and knowledge in either or all of these will be an advantage with any knowledge of Storage technologies.

Develop and implement action plans to investigate and resolve complex technical problems within area   of expertise.
Simulate problems in lab conditions where necessary to analyze problem causes and test solutions.
Clearly communicate action plans and give ongoing progress reports.
Provide technical leadership in customer crisis situations working closely with end customers and HP remote and field support staff.
Work closely with our globally distributed technical support staff and the engineering design teams.

Technical Skills:

- System administrator level experience on commercially distributed Linux products.
- Practical experience in clustering solutions.
- Practical experience of SAN and NAS.
- Practical experience with HP enterprise hardware (ProLiant, Integrity, MSA, EVA)
- High analytical and troubleshooting skills.
